After watching both McCain’s succession speech and Obama’s acceptance speech I admired both candidates. I may have only voted for one of them but my strong belief in both men’s moral character was once again affirmed. Through out this long election Obama has showed his skill and mastery at public speaking and McCain has portrayed himself as friendly and approachable. I was blown away by how moving both of their speeches were. Senator McCain thanked his wife and family for supporting him on his journey and he made sure to thank everyone who helped him. Governor Palin was on stage with her husband during McCain’s speech and it was moving to see her so close to tears. I was surprised she could hold back her emotions so well. During Obama’s speech he also thanked his wife and two daughters along with everyone from the volunteers to the people who donated five and ten dollars to his campaign. Both men were genuine and appreciative for all the hard work that has gone into their campaigns. I particularly loved when Barack Obama thanked John McCain for all he has done for this country. It was wonderful to see that two men who had just fought for the last 21 months for the highest office in the nation could still be respectful and civilized with each other.
